Welcome to Community Foundation of Medicine Hat & Southeastern Alberta

A Community Foundation is a collection of endowed funds established by individuals and corporations to enhance the quality of life in a particular area. Founded on trust, they help donors invest financial capital in their communities. They also build community capacity by bringing together diverse sections of the community, nurturing networks of support and acting as a convener of interests.

The Community Foundation is a volunteer driven autonomous, non-political, non-governmental registered public charity. All endowment funds are invested in a professional managed portfolio and the income is made available for distribution to support charitable activities in the community.

The Foundation has three main roles:

We offer a wide range of giving options, special charitable giving expertise and community knowledge to help our citizens fulfill their charitable goals.
We are a grant making organization that is committed to funding and supporting all facets of our community. With our broad view of community needs and opportunities we are uniquely placed to make grants to a wide range of charities throughout South Eastern Alberta.
As knowledgeable partners in community life, the Foundation offers leadership on issues of broad yet local, regional concern.
